License management

GumTree is used to facilitate software protection on the KoalaKey. GumTree also starts the software protection server, which acts as the network receiver for allowing your software to access the KoalaKey.

Software protection is handled by an administrator who must first pre-load unexportable scripts onto the KoalaKey’s 256 license modules. A client using your software then uses a pre-configured encryption key to send an AES-256bit encrypted JSON data packet to the software protection server to activate specific license modules on the KoalaKey itself.

License modules 0~191 are guest accessible, 192~255 are user 3 and administrator login only. This is for remote updating of modules to set run limits or enable/disable features in software securely.
